Val Day 2009

It looks as though we've skipped January. That's ok. January is a pretty cold and uneventful month. So let's move on to February...
This past weekend was Valentine's Day. Hadleigh booked a zipcar and drove me to Brooklyn for the day. We stopped in Williamsburg for a pastry and tea. Probably the best green tea I've had in a long while. We did a lot of "browsin' round the shoppes" in the area, which was really fun, since we never go to Brooklyn. We visited this jewelry shop that we've had our eye on for awhile called Bittersweets (www.bittersweetsny.com). It seemed more like the workshop than an actual shop, but the man there was nice and let me pet the adorable black and white bunny that was hopping around the room. It was so soft and very cute. Unfortunately we could not make up our minds to purchase anything, so we drove on to Fort Green to get us some famous red velvet cake from The Cake Man Raven (www.cakemanraven.com).

Unfortunately there was a line out the door, and by the time we got up to the counter, there was no cake left to purchase :( It was just as well, because we went home for delicious Tang Tang take out and amazing homemade oreo cookies that Trish made. We ate way too much, which seems to happen a lot these days.
It was a gorgeous day spent with my lovable Valentine.
